I hate their music, but at least I know why the Beach Boys are named what they are...
San Diego.
Wow. I've been to California before... like twice. I've been to the ocean before... Once. In early June. The water was freezing, and it was overcast and borderline downpour. I was dating that cared more about toe rings than me.
This time, however—Wow. I am in San Diego right now on work. A couple that I know is getting married in the San Diego temple, and they flew me down to be their videographer. Fortunately, my friend, Paul, lives 10 minutes away. So, I came down early and we've been living it up.
I've been here for just over 24 hours, and already we've gone to the beach 3 times, snorkeled with exotic fish, snorkeled with leopard sharks, went and saw the Dead Sea Scrolls on exhibit, and, as dumb as it sounds, drove on some of the coolest freeways in this country. We are planning on going to Mexico, shooting big guns (Mexico and the guns are not related, how racist of you to think such a thing), We're going to go surfing, go to the San Diego Wild Animal Park, Going to see the horse races, see an Angels and Airwaves concert, and of course, In-N-Out burgers multiple times.
I came down here to work, and instead I am getting a SWEET vacation before I head back to the drudgery of school. Actually, school for me is more like arts and crafts time in daycare. This fall I have the following classes:
Figure Drawing
Advanced Flash
Media Literacy
TV Commercial Production
Graphic Design
Creative Concepts 2 (the concepting class for the creative track of Advertising at BYU)
My challenge with school, unlike most college students, is figuring out how much to charge people for completing projects for them, which just so happens to also be my assignments, tests, and semester finals.
Dang, it feels good to be a creative.
